On Saturday 11th May 2013, 133 people joined together at Saltwell Park in Gateshead, to walk a Mile in Memory of Imogen Sophia Tither.
Imogen, was tragically and suddenly taken in her sleep, aged just 28 months, with no warning or reasonable explanation and this walk was one of many that took place all over the UK on the same day, to raise funds for the Lullaby Trust.
For the past 40 years The Lullaby Trust has supported thousands of bereaved families and funded extensive research that has led to a significant reduction in the number of babies dying each year. But sudden infant death has not gone away. In England and Wales, 600 babies die unexpectedly every year; of these tragic deaths 300 remain unexplained. The Lullaby Trust’s new strategy endeavours to halve the number of sudden infant deaths by 2020.
