Among the MES team there are a few fairly active and sporty types, and the conversation over a post-work beer one evening turned to cycling. The suggestion was floated that we take on a challenge, and so here we find ourselves facing 174 miles from Whitehaven to Newcastle this September to raise money for The Toybox Charity, the MS Society and British Polio Fellowship.
A couple of the team did the local Southwell Triathlon last year, and others have run or cycled good distances, but this is our biggest collective challenge by far. Yes we will be looking forward to a well earned pint at the end of each day's cycle but we will also be looking forward to making a difference in the lives of many people here in the UK and overseas.
