Wing Walk

Thanks for visiting our team fundraising page.

On Sunday, 9th July CFR Mary Marshall and three members of the East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust (EEAST) will join forces to participate in a wing walk to raise money for two local charities: the East Anglian Air Ambulance and EEAST community first responder (CFR) groups. And every penny raised will go directly to the charities thanks to the incredible support and generosity of Zeal Solutions who are sponsoring the full cost of the event.

EEAST Directors Lindsey Stafford-Scott and Chris Hartley will join Community Collaboration Manager Jon Needle and Mary Marshall as they take their lives in their hands and fly high to honour one of the ambulance service's most active volunteers, Keith Marshall who sadly passed away in November 2016.

Keith joined EEAST as a CFR with his wife, Mary in 2012. Mary hopes that this show of courage and resilience will not only honour her late husband but also raise much needed funds for their local CFR group.

Keith was a dedicated and committed volunteer and although he only volunteered with EEAST for five years, he made a massive contribution to the service and its volunteers, especially those in the Suffolk areas.

In 2014, Keith's valuable contribution to pre hospital patient care in his local community was honored when he received a Distinguished Service Award from the ambulance service. On being presented with the award Keith said: "EEAST has given me one of the most rewarding compliments a volunteer could ever imagine and I am immensely proud in being chosen to receive the award."

EEAST Chief Executive Robert Morton said: "I had the pleasure to meet Keith. His knowledge and expertise made him an incredibly valued asset to the Trust, and we will be forever grateful for the thousands of hours he volunteered to help our service - whether through his community first responder or Trust User Group work. Keith was a friend to the teams that had the pleasure of working with him, and he will be sorely missed."

Keith's commitment to volunteering and helping the ambulance service was exceptional. Keith remains in our thoughts to this day, and our condolences go out to Mary and Keith's family and friends.

Please help us reach our goal to fundraise £2,000 in Keith's honour.
