CHALLENGE CF2012

Team photo
THANKS FOR VISITING THE TEAM PAGE OF CHALLENGE CF2012. Over the course of 2012, the Queen's Diamond Jubilee year, and that of the London Olympics, we will be setting up all kinds of events of our own with the aim of raising money for the future research of Cystic Fibrosis. CF is the most common, inherited, genetic condition in the UK. Young people who have this- for the current life expectancy is about 35 years- cannot process salt in their bodies. As a result of this, any mucous membranes become thickened, meaning that some parts of their bodies- lungs, digestive system, and other areas- cannot work effectively. In my own life time the life expectancy has risen from 5 tears to 35 years, and the CF Trust is making great headways with regard to Gene Therapy which will control the defective genes that lead to the aspect of Cystic Fibrosis that proves fatal. With further funding for research, there is no reason why Cystic Fibrosis cannot be mastered. SYLVIA TAYLOR Team Administrator
