Thanks for visiting our team fundraising page. On Sunday 9 July 2017, 13 students and five members of staff from Queen Margaret's, York, will set off on a four day adventure to climb the three highest mountains in Wales, England and Scotland. First they will tackle Mount Snowdon in North Wales, then Scafell Pike in the Lake District and finally, but by no means least, Ben Nevis in Scotland.
The group completed their first training walk on Sunday 7 May with an 11 mile route in Nidderdale. The route took the girls to a high point of 400 metres at the Coldstones Cut and was a thorough test of strength and stamina - a test they all passed, cheerfully and confidently. Their second training walk took place in testing conditions on Sunday 18 June when it was extremely hot. In fact it was so hot that the plan to walk up Pen-y-Ghent and then across the moors to Malham was abandoned in favour of a straightforward ascent of Pen-Y-Ghent - still a good challenge in the heat. All the girls were up to the task and ready for the bigger challenge ahead.
In July the girls will be climbing over 3,000 metres upwards, all in aid of their chosen charities. Your donation, however big or small, will give the team the motivation they need to achieve this feat. You can donate by selecting which team member(s) you'd like to support from the list below.
