The annual Varsity March is a mammoth walk between Oxford and Cambridge (129 km / 80 miles) or between Oxford and Aylesbury (37 km / 23 miles) completed in under 48 hours without sleep!
This year the full 80 miles was completed in 37 hours 15 minutes by Adam Ashing, Tom Comerford, Aneesh Naik, Stephanie Smith and Dylan the Sheep. In addition Charles Yin did Oxford to Northall (35 miles) and Muting Hao, Tianhan Liu and Ka Ho Tam did Oxford to Aylesbury (23 miles).
This year we are again raising money for the Gatehouse charity in Oxford and for Jimmy’s Cambridge. These charities carry out vital work among the homeless and poorly housed of Oxford and Cambridge. We encourage you to split your donation between our page for the Gatehouse and our page for Jimmy’s Cambridge which are both linked below. Please do not make any sponsorship conditional on walking the whole 81 miles, as this is an enormous mental and physical challenge and no-one can guarantee their performance on the day. Thank you very much for sponsoring us!
For more information about the walk, or to sign up to take part as a walker or as part of the support team, please email Stephanie on sgs30@cam.ac.uk or visit http://www.srcf.ucam.org/curac/varsity.php.
