Story
Ollie, Neil and Hamish are taking part in the Highland cross duathlon on the 23rd of June!
Its a 20 mile cross country run with over a 1000 feet altitude rise, followed by a 30 mile road cycle across the Highlands of Scotland. Starting early in Morvich by the end of Loch Duich, the route climbs upwards to Loch Affric where we change to bikes and cycle to Beauly, finishing back down at sea level on the far side of the country. We'll be racing individually but competing for a team prize. More importantly, we are fundraising as a team.
We're raising money for the Highland Cross fund which in turn supports local charity and important causes across the Highlands. Past donations have funded hydrotherapy pools, hospices, a hospital radio, and many minivans and busses (over 60!) for disability groups, care homes and a myriad of local charitable organisations. They have raised over £4.7m in the last 35 years - all from the Highland Cross event. The participants pay all the staging costs of the event itself, so everything raised will help the charities directly.
Even better - the Charitable Foundation of Artemis have very kindly offered to match every donation pound for pound up to £1000. So please give generously - everything you do give will be double courtesy of the Charitable Foundation of Artemis.
Any support to this wonderful charity would be greatly appreciated - and will spur on our last few weeks of hard training!
Thanks,
Ollie, Neil and Hamish
