In a few weeks time I will be leaving the Royal Navy after 35 years service, all of it in the submarine service. To raise awareness of the Royal British Legion I am going to travel, on my motorbike, around Spain, France and Italy on a route similar to that taken by the Carthaginian general Hannibal Barca in 218 BCE.
