Story
Hi all,
Thank you for taking the time to visit our ‘Three Piers to Paris’ JustGiving page.
Last summer, we sadly lost my beautiful, fun and exceptionally loving aunt, Putul (Suraiya) through a tragic and sudden illness. She was taken by CJD (Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease), a randomly occurring, rare and fatal condition that affects the brain. It affects just one in a million people per year worldwide. To us, she was and always will be one in a million.
In June 2018, myself and 6 close friends are going to be undertaking a challenging bike ride from the piers of Brighton, Eastbourne and Worthing, joining to cross the Channel, cycling through northern France, down the Champs Elysees, to reach our final destination of the Eiffel Tower. Covering around 150 miles over 3 days it will be a challenge!
We’d like to use this as an opportunity to raise awareness and funds for the CJD Support Network which offers advice, information and emotional and practical support for patients, carers and professionals who are involved in any form of suspected or confirmed CJD.
The Support Network no longer receives statutory funding and is now totally dependent on fundraising and public donations to finance their work with patients and families.
The team; Kirsten, Claire, Jaz, Holly, Sharon, Gail and myself will be setting off from our respective piers on 22nd June 2018 to achieve our very own 'Three Piers to Paris’ challenge.
Any donation big or small is very much welcome.
A massive thank you in advance from all of us.
