Story
I have experienced a lifetime struggle with mental health and feel passionately that it deserves the same respect and care as physical health. That's why I work at Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health NHS Trust, running the charity that improves care for mental illness.
For someone who knows perfectly that being well means taking care of yourself, I'm a terrible example! Anyone who knows me will know that I love my food and really don't love exercise.
So I've set myself a challenge: 1 month > 4 weeks > 28 days to transform my physical health. To walk the walk. I have committed to walking at least 5km every single day (approx. 7,000 steps), eating healthier and cutting out the junk with a goal of losing 1 stone (14lbs).
And in doing so, I hope you'll support me by supporting the AWP Charitable Fund. The money raised will go a long way to improving care for those suffering from acute mental illness; debilitating, isolating mental illness. Everyone is affected by mental health, but yet it's a strikingly under-funded issue.
