Story

In May 2007 my 8 year old son Charlie died suddenly from an undiagnosed heart condition whilst playing rounders' at school. On the morning of the 16th May be bounced out the door looking forward to his game of rounders' and never returned home, a gaping hole has been left in our family. Charlie had shown no symptoms of a heart condition and whilst playing rounders' his heart had simply stopped. He had always been such a healthy and energetic child. The school didn't have a defibrillator and the ambulance took a while to arrive ......

All funds raised at the Tiger Ball go to Charlie's memorial fund held within SADS UK  and purchasing defibrillators for local schools and sports clubs. Although as many as 270 children die after suffering a cardiac arrest at school each year, there is no legal requirement for defibrillators to be in schools, SADS UK campaign tirelessly to urge the government to pass a law to ensure schools have defibrillators in place. The SADs team support us with the purchase and training for each defibrillator we raise money for.

So far the funds from the annual Tiger Ball have enabled us to provide 22 defibrillators to local schools and sports clubs with many more in the pipeline.

Thank you for taking the time to read my story and help us support such a great charity in memory of our treasured son Charlie.
