Story

Just in case you haven't heard of Church Army, it's where I work (and Beth has on occasion). We work in some of the most deprived communities in the UK and Ireland and work with children and teenagers, the elderly and everyone in between. We work with those who are homeless, lonely, those experiencing self-harm, who are at risk of gang or knife crime, the unemployed and those who are struggling to make ends meet.

Church Army has already responded to the challenge of the COVID-19 pandemic, changing our work patterns to make sure we are still in contact with those most in need. We recognise the need to grow and to further develop our work. Before the pandemic there were 2.5 million people living just above the poverty line, a slight change in circumstance was going to be enough to tip them into poverty.

The challenge is not just about maintaining services. It is about growing our frontline work to provide hope for the poor through our words and actions, which is why Beth and I are asking for your support (and rowing 26km!).

If you are able please do consider donating and if you want to find out more about Church Army's frontline work we're hosting a 'Cuppa with a keyworker' on Thursday 20th April at 3pm:
