Story
At the beginning of May, just after his first birthday, our son Dominic was diagnosed with Dravet Syndrome, a rare, severe form of genetic epilepsy characterised by frequent untreatable seizures and progressive cognitive and motor impairment. The disease is lifelong and currently incurable. We are joining parents and supporters of Dravet Syndrome UK on their annual hike up Ben Nevis, the highest mountain in the UK, to support the charity in its three primary aims:
- To support families affected by Dravet syndrome emotionally, practically and financially
- To fund medical research into Dravet syndrome and other related genetic sodium channel epilepsies
- To raise awareness and understanding of Dravet syndrome within the professional community
Many thanks for your support.
