Story
Last year I completed the Keswick to Barrow (40 mile run which took 7 and a half hours!) and I wanted a new challenge. The London Marathon is an epic, global event and I have always wanted to complete it so I thought why not fulfil an ambition and collect for charity at the same time. I am running on behalf of The Shaw Trust, they are a national charity that helps people to experience work, find jobs and live more independently. Every year they help thousands of people to achieve their employment and personal development goals by working closely with them and by prioritising their needs. They help a variety of people including; people with a disability or mental health issue, young people not in education, ex-offenders, people with drug and alcohol problems and people diagnosed with cancer.
To raise money I have been running free bootcamps in both London and Birmingham whilst doing some fundraising at the school where I teach which has included having my hair dyed and being shaved by students!
So please help me achieve a lifelong ambition but more importantly help people who want to work but struggle to find it! Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page, I hope to see you at the finish line!
Best wishes
Tony
