We work with those at crisis point to provide crisis support

Story

Back in February 2015, we lost one of the boys to suicide. It's a loss that still hurts each and every one of the lads to this day and it always will. We miss Jack so much.

To mark the fifth anniversary of Jack's passing, myself, Craig and Lewis decided we wanted to do some kind of challenge to raise money and awareness of The Lighthouse Perth - a charity dedicated to helping anyone who is experiencing thoughts of self-harm, suicide or any form of emotional distress.

Jack's mum, Lindy, is involved with the charity and they hope to be up and running as a crisis centre in the coming weeks. You can find out more about the charity on their website - https://lighthouseforperth.org/.

We were supposed to be taking part in the Sprint Triathlon at Knockburn Sports Loch in Aberdeenshire on Sunday 31st May. However, due to COVID-19 the event was postponed to September and subsequently has now been cancelled.

The three of us are gutted but still want to take part in a challenge in memory of Jack. So, we've decided that we'll swap the swim part of the Triathlon (we're unable to train for it just now for obvious reasons) for a Munro. It will now be a 40km cycle from Callander to Killin, 14km run from Killin to Ben Lawers and finishing by climbing the Ben Lawers Munro.

We will be doing this on Friday 10th July 2020.

The support we've had so far has been amazing and we want to try and raise as much as possible for The Lighthouse Perth in the hope that no other families and friends will have to deal with the pain of losing a loved one to suicide again. I know that times are tough just now but anything you can give will go a long way to helping the charity out.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

Thanks for taking the time to read our story and thank you in advance for donating.
