Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page!

We are the UCL Geography running group. A team of enthusiastic students and professors who run every week. The idea behind the group is that we run for ourselves but we also run to make a difference whenever it is possible.

In this case we will be running a 10km race to raise money for improving treatment of patients with dementia but also research on finding a cure.

Dementia is a set of symptoms which describe a progressive deterioration of a person's brain and it includes memory loss and difficulties with thinking, problem solving or language.

How does this affect you? Nowadays an increasing number of people over the age of 65 (or sometimes even before) are affected by some form of dementia. This has an impact directly on them, their carers and the country's economy. For more information please visit:

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.
