Story

Being unable to drive due to eyesight problems I've decided to put a positive spin on the situation by walking over 100 miles in the month of July for our much needed  roof repairs. Grants are being obtained but  a substantial amount needs to be raised by members efforts.

Great Meeting has existed since 1708 and provides for spiritual needs without dogmas or creeds beyond its broad principles of Freedom,Reason and Tolerance. More info can be found on the web site.

The building itself lies in the heart of city and is the oldest domestic brick building in Leicester. It houses a Chapel organ which has a room full of approx 2,011 pipes. The garden is one of the few green spaces in rhe city centre.

On a humanitarian level the attached garden room is used by many groups including a refugee food bank, literacy class and mental health support group. La Leche have used it in the past. WEA rent rooms and a clinic for the homeless is rented in the grounds.

Any donations throughout July would be gratefully received and I'll endeavour to keep those who donate updated on my progress.
