Story
I'm joining Cancer Research UK's Race for Life this year. Please join the fight by digging deep and sponsoring me - it's quick, easy and totally secure.
On the 17th December we found out my mother in law had been diagnosed with a terminal brain tumor. Both my Husband and I wanted to fundraise on her behalf. Phil has done a 24hr Charity stream and raised over £400. Now it is my turn.
£180 pays for one day of a trial to discover faster diagnosis and new therapies to treat brain cancer.
I am fundraising as I want to fund at least two days of research, so no other family will be devastated by cancer.
On a personal note, I am also doing this event to prove to myself that I can. Last year I was diagnosed with a stomach condition called Bile Acid Malabsorption. This condition ripped my life apart and it has taken me almost a year to recover. This is a chronic condition which I will now have to live with for the rest of my life. I spent most of last year on bed rest and hardly left the house. My fitness and my health are at an all time low and I want to do this event to build back my fitness and prove to myself and others with my condition that we can do this!
Events like this are vital in funding Cancer Research UK's life-saving work into preventing, diagnosing and treating cancer. By sponsoring me, we can unite and create an army that cancer can't ignore. By sponsoring me, we will beat cancer sooner.
