Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I ran my first marathon in 2012 after suffering an ectopic pregnancy, at the time it was my way of coping with the grief. I suffered with anxiety and depression and stopped wanting to go out or to see people.
My best friend, Buster (beagle) ensured I got out every night for a run, he picked me up when I was down and together we went to places I struggled to go before and he reminded me why I was supporting the Blue Cross. Buster has always had a happy home, a warm bed, food and above all love and kindness... Sadly not all pets have a happy life or a chance of a happy future. The Blue Cross do so much for pets in need from subsidised health care for those in need to rehoming abandoned and abused pets. I hoped that by raising money I could help someone like me meet a special friend who was in desperate need of love and care in return.
One thing going I've learnt over the years is that there's no such thing as "just a pet" as Buster has proven time and time again. My "just a pet" has shown me unconditional love, trust and he's given me the confidence to get back out and get on with life... he's motivated me and inspired me.
Since 2012 I have lost 7.5 stone and am planning on running the London marathon again in April 2017, this time however I am not running as a distraction I am doing it for my little boy, Joseph (2). I want to show that you can achieve anything with hard work and perseverance. Running doesn't come naturally to me but I never give up on a challenge and if there's one thing I want to teach my son it's that you just have to keep trying there's no such thing as "can't".
For me running 26.2 miles is not my only challenge to be honest raising a significant sum of money for a very well deserving charity is a massive challenge in itself.
I appreciate everything single donation and thankyou in advance for visiting my page and for supporting me. Just know that every single pound you donate will make a huge difference to animals in need.
Thankyou for your support, encouragement and donations
