Story

LCTF was set up 7years ago to ofer support, information and rest bite breaks to name a few services, to anyone suffering and family members of those living with a form of the disease called vasculitis, as well as those who have lost a loved one to this incurable illness. The foundation was set up by Grant Currie and his wife Adrienne in the memory of their only daughter Lauren, who was devastatingly misdiagnosed with the disease and passed away at the age of only 15.

This charity and the support group based within it has made a huge impact on my own personal life, that I thought was over and was beginning to give up and just exist within the 4 walls of my room. And in total honesty this has only been in the past few weeks.

In one phone call I made in hospital which was to the LCTF charity really did turn my life on a tilt, I felt so much more positive began to see light at the end of the dark tunnel and instantly felt like I was no longer on my own from the immediate services and opportunities like the wellbeing break offered to me all within this first phone call, simply because I have this illness and they are all about making our lives a little bit better and easier in any way they can. And yes, although its an illness that's never going away and I am still very much just at the start of the journey, I'm not going into alone because I have made many new friends that have been where I am and many years ago but are still leading full and active lives for as much as the symptoms and bad days allow.

If it wasn't for The LCTF and the constant support EVERY SINGLE DAY that I receive from the group I honestly don't like to think about how I would be or even how I would be coping over the next few weeks/months. So I along with other members of it are going to be doing all we can to promote the charity, get it noticed and raise funds for it at every chance we can, it's a worthwhile cause that's became important to me and my family now and I honestly couldn't have gotten through the last few weeks without them!!!!!
