Story
Rather than our annual meetup consisting of a booze filled weekend - this year we have decided to do something different.
It's become clear that none of us sail through life - and that all of us find it hard to navigate life's constant challenges. Our meetups since finishing Uni have always been about us lads re-connecting, having a laugh and re-establishing that sense of support and bonding that, quite frankly, gets put on the back burner due to the craziness of life.
This year we still want all that - but didn't want to go home afterwards deflated, and having to wait an entire year before we get that fix again. This year we wanted to come away inspired, to have a sense of achievement, to leave some kind of legacy and to do some good in the world.
We will be doing the Welsh 3000s challenge over two days. I hope Tom has a compass and can read a map - I do not have a clue!
I (Steve) recently went along to Tom Chapman's book launch (The Lions Barber Collective ).
I'll let you look into the amazing work that Tom and his organisation are doing to help men with their mental health challenges - but what I will say is this:
I only spent 1 hour in the presence of Tom Chapman - but this man's Heart is so big and genuine that I left very moved and inspired to do MY thing and have a positive impact on helping those in need in this world. It is an absolute honour to do this challenge in support of the Lions Barber Collective
This challenge could not be more appropriate right now, as this year - it's myself and Tom Williamson doing the challenge together. Life has got a canny way of working - and although all the brothers will not be doing the challenge together - we're still going to give it our best shot and make our mark.
