On May 4th 2019, five boys will become men.
After spending many years chasing each other down school corridors, evading on-duty staff and vaulting laundry bins, Tom, Will, Jack, Cosmo and Nick have decided to take it up a notch.
Namely, the London West Tough Mudder; a beastly 12-mile route that takes in 25 obstacles and a massive amount of mud. It will take teamwork and guile to overcome, but as you can see from the photo when the going gets tough, the tough get going.
Action4Diabetics (A4D)
None of the obstacles we will be scaling is as large or hazardous as developing Type 1 Diabetes in rural parts of South East Asia.
Type 1 Diabetes is an incurable condition that strikes indiscriminately, generally between the ages of 5 - 15. If a child does not have access to Insulin and Blood testing equipment, survival is impossible.
This medication and support are available free on the NHS, and the likes of Henry Slade (international rugby player) and Theressa May (avid hill-walker) live active lives with the condition.
However, there are still parts of the world where young people either do not get diagnosed or cannot afford life-saving medicine.
A4D is trying to change this and now supports nearly 400 disadvantaged young people across South-East Asia who have Type 1 Diabetes. As little as £400 provides one child with the care they need for a whole year. A4D is a lean and super effective charity that saves and transforms lives.
Between the five of us, we are aiming to raise enough money to support five children, for a whole year, with the medication and support they need to survive and thrive.
Please help us hit our fundraising target. THANK YOU!
