On our way to fundraising HKD 6,000,000 from this year's 24 Hour Races in Hong Kong, Singapore and Kuala Lumpur.
Running To Stop The Traffik is a global youth movement with a vision to end Trafficking In Persons and modern-day slavery, through rallying together youths internationally, and creating educational platforms, events, forums and resources to raise awareness and capital for the cause.
The 24 Hour Races (Nov 15-16) represent a global youth movement that since inception in 2010, have engaged more than 150,000 youths and raised over USD 300,000 for causes fighting TIP and modern-day slavery since 2010. Bringing together over 150,000 students from over 50 schools across Asia, the events in 2014 are being held in Hong Kong, Singapore and Kuala Lumpur. (http://24hourrace.org)
Peak 24 (Dec 6-7), is Hong Kong’s first charity endurance race for corporates to disrupt the slavery trade. 60 teams of 5 runners will participate in 3 race categories to raise awareness and funds for the Mekong Club and Running to Stop the Traffik.
The International Labour Organization(ILO) estimates that the global trade in human beings as slaves is worth USD 150 billion per year. With more slaves today than there have been in our entire history, we believe that a youth movement is positioned to make a large difference for our cause. (http://peak24.org)
Funds raised through JustGiving will be allocated on a project basis to our beneficiaries that work on a grassroots level combating orphan and child trafficking in South-east Asia. (http://24hourrace.org/project-portfolio/)
