Running to Stop the Traffik is an international youth movement aimed at combating human trafficking worldwide. The race is a huge relay style endurance event where students across Southeast Asia (Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur and Singapore) will race around the 3.2km track for 24 successive hours from the 15th to 16th November 2014. Since the first race back in 2010, we have engaged more than 1,500,000 young people in the fight against modern-day slavery, and have raised more than US$300,000 for grassroots anti-slavery charities in the process. It’s an amazing cause to be a part of when you think about how so many people; especially young children are suffering in the fastest growing international crime in the world.
This year, our fundraising goal for the 24 Hour Race in Hong Kong is HKD 2 million. This is an extremely achievable goal if every one of you reading this can donate - even a small amount can go a long way to combating human trafficking! RTST is a non-profit organization; all excess funds will be donated to our beneficiary charities through our charity The Mekong Club once costs have been covered. Partner beneficiaries include: Freedom Matters, APLE Cambodia, Blue Dragon Children's Foundation, HOME and SUKA Society.
This is a cause that we believe to be of the greatest importance; it is not only about combating one of the most devastating global issues, but it also shows that young people have the ability to make a change in our society. It would be amazing if you could support us in making a difference in the lives of others through donation. Thank you so much for your generosity and contributions towards a better future.
