Hello!
Thanks for visiting our team fundraising page. We are students from SHA TIN COLLEGE who have pledged to run the Hong Kong 24 Hour Race 2014 by Running to Stop the Traffik and join the fight against human slavery.
Human slavery is the world's fastest growing international crime where people are bought and forced into horrible situations that in any other circumstance, they would never agree to and organ donations, forced labour, sex slavery are just some of the injustices that fall under this category.
The race is an international youth movement that aims to raise aware and funds for grassroots charities actively fighting against this injustice. Students across Southeast Asia (Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur and Singapore) will be running in huge relay style endurance event for 24 successive hours from the 15th to 16th November 2014.
By taking on this endeavor, we hope to get sponsored! All the funds will go to RTST - a non-profit organization and the excess funds (of which we hope there will be HKD2 million!) will be donated to our beneficiary charities through our charity partner The Mekong Club once costs have been covered. Partner beneficiaries include Freedom Matters, APLE Cambodia, Blue Dragon Children's Foundation, HOME and SUKA Society. You'll see our team fundraising target on the right. By donating to one of our fundraising pages (listed below), you can help us smash this goal and really make a difference.
This is a cause that we believe to be of the greatest important; it is not only about combating one of the most devastating global issue, but it also goes to show that young people have the ability to make a change in the society. It would be amazing if you can support us in making a difference in other people’s lives by donating.
Thank you for your generosity and contributions to a better future.
