School Olympics

One school ran a “School Olympics” and created a JustGiving page for each year level. Activities were run on rotation throughout the day, keeping things simple for staff.

How it worked
Each year level shared one link in social media, newsletters, and class groups. Friendly updates shared which grades were raising the most and kept families and students engaged.

Why it worked
It was easy to join in and easy to share! The grade-versus-grade challenge made it fun without pressure, with the grade that raised the most earning a trip to the park with a visit from the ice cream van. Altogether, the school raised more than $20,000 in just over a week.

Holiday challenge

Students chose their own challenges to complete at home over the Easter holidays. These included fitness goals, reading, puzzles, and helping out at home.

How it worked
Each student set up their own JustGiving page and shared it with family and friends. Families donated to support taking part, not to compete or compare results.

Why it worked
The challenge was flexible and inclusive. Students could choose what suited them, and families could donate online in just a few clicks. Together, the school raised more than $40,000.

DIY colour run

The school ran a DIY colour run on school grounds. Each class fundraised through its own JustGiving page so families could support their child’s class.

How it worked
Students completed a short run or walk during school time, with colour stations set up along the course. Class pages were shared through newsletters, and class groups, making links easy to pass on.

Why it worked
The event was fun and easy to plan. Class pages made fundraising feel personal, and each student who raised $30 or greater received a school beanie. Online sharing helped reach family and friends beyond the school and the event raised over $10,000 overall.
