Story

I am running the 2023 London Marathon for Newlife to raise money for all the incredible work they do towards changing children’s lives. Thousands of parents with disabled and terminally ill children across the country rely on Newlife to get the equipment their children need when this equipment is refused by the statutory services, or delays in provision mean that the child will suffer unnecessarily.

Having initially trained to run the London Marathon in 2020, but sadly having my entry postponed to this year due to the pandemic, I have re-opened my previous fundraising page in the hope to secure some last minute donations for this worthy cause. I have not wanted to share this until close to race day as I have had both a hip and knee injury that previously took me out of running for a year which has made training no mean feat! Hopefully this year will see me make it both the start line and the finish line.

Aside from fundraising, I am running in memory of my Dad, David Chawla, who lost his battle to depression when he took his own life in 2014. I know running a marathon is something he would be proud of and supported if he was still here today - this one's for you DadI am also running in memory of Julie Shelley, Mum to my partner Luke, who passed away last month following a Glioblastoma diagnosis at the end of last year. A kind and wonderful woman who will never be forgotten.

I would be so grateful for any contribution, however big or small, that anyone is able to make to my marathon fundraising.
