In 2000, Bruce Haulman began leading and guiding students through Australia and New Zealand. Since that time, more than 500 students from Washington state, and beyond, have travelled Down Under through his program.

Today, with mixed emotions, we are sharing the news that Bruce is retiring. This winter quarter will be Bruce's final study abroad trip!

Bruce has been an incredible mentor to many students, helping them explore the world and gain valuable international experiences. While we are welcoming a wonderful new professor who will be focusing on Indigenous literature, poetry, and biology, we will miss Bruce!

To honor Bruce and thank him for his dedication to learning, this fundraiser has been created to support the Bruce Haulman Scholarship, benefiting students who would like to participate in the 2025 ANZ 8-week program but cannot afford the travel and lodging expenses. Scholarships will prioritize low-income students, students of color, and first-generation students.
