Acting Out is the community outreach program of the award-winning UNCSA School of Drama, offering classes in Acting, Musical Theatre, Theatrical Dance, as well as private voice instruction. Instructors include UNCSA faculty members and alumni, offering the same caliber of instruction as our high school and undergraduate programs.
Your generosity today will create life-changing opportunities for our student artists. Our first goal for this fundraising campaign is to provide a full tuition scholarship for one student for the spring term, which costs $500. Once that first goal is reached, additional money will received cover a portion of the production costs for our spring production - our goal is to reach $1,000 towards this effort.
"Both of my children have attended UNCSA's Acting Out program for the past several years. The faculty, most of whom are UNCSA alumni themselves, provides a fun, safe and nurturing space to explore and enjoy the dramatic arts. The focus on process over product ensures that the students are learning skills that will not only help them develop as performers, but that translate into daily life as well (work ethic, critical thinking, problem solving, collaborative working, public speaking, impulse control... I could do go on!). It's a one-of-a-kind program and we're truly grateful for it.
