A wave of protests across Colombia has put thousands of vulnerable families at risk. The violence and unrest have made it unsafe and for many people, impossible to leave their homes to go to work. For already struggling families, this loss of income means they cannot pay their rent, putting them at imminent risk of eviction.

After a year of COVID quarantine, the number of Colombian families living in poverty has drastically increased. Violence and disruption are making it harder to access services to meet their needs. Bethany provides basic items for vulnerable families, including food, hygiene kits, and housing assistance to keep families safe, healthy, and together in this uncertain time. But we need your help to reach more families.

Bethany also helps families with psychosocial support services, to care for their mental and emotional needs. Fear, instability, and stress is taking a toll on Colombian families mental health and well-being. Especially for children who have been cut off from their school routines, and for women and girls who are more likely to be targeted for sexual abuse and other forms of violence.
