Story
We are all in this unique crisis of uncertainty, fear and lack of resources. This is the best time to be of support to each other. In this national emergency there is a family less fortunate than yours. Behind every job lost is a fear of not putting food on the table. In these time we have to be very cognizant of the effects of our interactions and dealings.
In these circumstances we have to adapt to new changes. We at Shifa Clinic are ready to implement the changes in the way we provide hunger relief with your help and support. We are extremely thankful to support of Low country food bank without whose support we could not do this.
We have two programs:
a) Mercy on Wheels: door to door distribution
Following is the protocol followed
The Mercy on wheel program is as follows:
a) The request we received from families, organizations and commuity referral and our established client base will be compiled in an organized system.
b) The volunteers who sign up through a link will let us know what times they will deliver
c) We will prepare boxes and have it ready for the volunteer to pick up at time specified by them
d) The volunteers when they come to the facility will call us and remain outside the facility.
e) One person from the facility will take the supplies outside to the volunteer with the details of family info on a card.
f) The volunteer delivers to the family at the door without contact. Either rings the bell and leaves or calls the family after leaving notifying of the drop off
If you would like to volunteer to deliver here is the link for sign up. Please choose the days and times that work for you. Again we will take it day by day as things are changing rapidly and will follow all instructions for the safety of all.
