Story
Catholic Charities food pantries are seeing record demand because of the economic impact of the COVID-19 crisis. Our food pantries at St. Blase in Summit and St. Irenaeus in Park Forest are serving between 50% - 70% more families then at the same time last year. Many who come for food assistance are first-time clients who have suddenly found themselves out of work.
We are finding it harder and harder to acquire some common food items. As a result, we cannot provide families with as much food as they really need.
We are asking for your help. Here's what you can do.
Make a Monetary Donation though this campaign or mail a check payable to Catholic Charities, 12731 S. Wood Street, Blue Island 60406.
Organize a food drive; collect or purchase food for our pantries. Donation delivery or pickup of in-kind gifts can be arranged. For St. Blase, call 708-563-2407, for St. Irenaeus, call 708-205-9661.
We are grateful for the outpouring of generosity we have already received. We ask for your continued support as we struggle to feed our neighbors in need in the south-southwest suburbs.
With gratitude,
