Story
David's Place will be a program and physical space located at Daybreak to better serve at-risk and homeless LGBTQ+ youth in the Miami Valley.
It is the result of a community coming together to create a more equitable and compassionate culture for all its citizens. And is done in honor of the generous spirit of David Mudry, a member of our community who passed away at age 23 but whose heart never stopped beating for those on the margins of society, especially LGBTQ+ youth.
The first of its kind in the Miami Valley, it is a collaboration between several community partners including The Dayton Foundation, Public Health Dayton & Montgomery County, Dayton Children's Gender Diversity Clinic, Equitas Health, the family and friends of David Mudry, and individual private donors in the Miami Valley.
The goal is to raise $500,000 in start-up funding. In honor of David, who had room for everyone in his heart, the suggested giving levels are named for the colors of the rainbow--a symbol of inclusivity and acceptance of everyone.
We offer these levels for your consideration and want to emphasize that all gifts, of any amount, are welcomed and appreciated.
