Education has always been a huge part of my life, but this year it has really been my primary focus. As you probably know, I recently joined the Board of Directors of Limitless Horizons Ixil, a non-profit focused on providing quality education for girls in rural Guatemala. I first got to know LHI through a Brown University service trip in 2009. Over the years, I have seen their dedication and professionalism as an organization grow tremendously and their impact in the community has been profound.

This year has been particularly challenging for students in Chajul. Between school closures due to COVID and the damaging effects of Tropical Storm Eta, their everyday struggles have grown exponentially. Imagine trying to navigate remote learning without access to a computer or internet - many of our scholars are attempting to watch remote classes using a cell phone and spotty service.

During this time of need, LHI has increased services to include access to food and hygiene products, as well as COVID information in Ixil, the local language. We are also still doing everything we can to ensure the continuity of education for our scholars.

My hope this year is that these girls will have the opportunity to complete their education and continue transforming this beautiful community. If you are grateful for your own access to education, I hope you'll join me in donating to LHI. I'll be matching all donations made by Dec 2nd!
