Story

Join our Law Enforcement Agencies as they support us, their local Child Advocacy Centers (CAC). Beards for Bucks is a fun and exciting fundraiser where law enforcement officers are allowed to grow facial hair for the month of October to support their local CAC. Officers depend on the generosity of the community to make a donation to support their Razorless for a Reason cause. A fun and easy way to support law enforcement and your local CAC! This event started right here with Manchester PD and has grown every year. We count on each and every one of you!

Helping child victims of physical and sexual abuse and their families requires an approach that addresses the physical, emotional and legal dimensions of abuse. And it requires a coordinated victim centered response from expert professionals to reduce stress throughout the investigation and intervention process. Child Advocacy Centers work in partnership with all the necessary agencies and specialists to coordinate a plan of action to provide high-quality, specialized services for abused children and their families to heal, survive and thrive. What's more, we provide many of our services in the comfort and convenience of our child-friendly locations. Beards for Bucks is special because the funds go directly to the CAC and unlike some other funding sources, the funds can be used for anything! Funds from Beards for Bucks can (and have) been used for anything from a Keurig for the family area to contributing to developing our behavioral health program!

We have moved into our larger space and have expanded services to include an in-house behavioral health clinician. We completed 238 interviews at the Hills North CAC last year and those numbers increase each year.

About the charity

Child Advocacy Centers partner with multiple public, private, state, county and local organizations to provide a collaborative, coordinated systematic response to child abuse investigations and subsequent supports for child victims and their families.
