Story
For more than five decades students have relied on Johnson County Community College -- the community's college -- to help them create a sustainable future for themselves and their families. Our students begin their dream of a college education, complete coursework for a degree or retool their skills to return to the workforce in a new field. They need us more than ever in these challenging times, and it starts with 2020 Some Enchanted Opportunity.
The JCCC Foundation, as part of the larger JCCC family, continually demonstrates our ability to be innovative and adaptive to inspire learning in ways that transform lives and strengthen communities. In 2020, the coronavirus pandemic has tested our resolve. However, we are responding to the challenge! This year our community-wide campaign Some Enchanted Opportunity will raise money for JCCC scholarships and student basic needs.
Three pillars RECOGNITION, INSPIRATION and PARTICIPATION define this campaign. In the end, we will celebrate our students, our college and our community for pulling together during the pandemic.
While the JCCC Foundation enthusiastically awarded more than $1.3 million for student scholarships last year, it still covered only one in four requests for support from students.
Hardships caused by the pandemic in 2020 mean even more students will need financial assistance. Scholarships and basic needs assistance (through the Cavalier MealSHARE Program and the new Student Basic Needs Center) give our students hope for a brighter future. Your support is crucial.
With this 2020 Some Enchanted Opportunity campaign, we've expanded giving levels and fundraising activities. That means more people can participate in our mission to give as many students as possible access to quality, affordable education close to home.
