Lewis College of Science and Letters is home to seven academic departments and a multitude of research labs and centers.

Your support allows us to:

1. provide summer stipends to support student research projects

2. provide seed grants for innovative faculty research

3. provide travel support for students attending professional conferences to present their research

Over the last year:

Our faculty were actively involved in research related to COVID 19 testing and treatment.

We have received major grants to continue support of our basic and applied science research in all areas.

Our faculty rose to the challenges of teaching courses remotely, ensuring continued student success.

Going forward we are excited about the opportunities to increase collaboration among our departments, for instance between food science, biology, and psychology. We're looking forward to bringing new undergraduate students into our food science, forensic chemistry, and environmental chemistry programs. We are creating a new certificate in technical communications to join our other successful online degree programs in analytical chemistry and health physics.
