Your support allows us to:
--Fund research and project opportunities for our students, which will bridge internship and exploration. Scholarships will pay for students to work in labs, in the community, or closely with a faculty on an important social and scientific need
--Bring a world class exhibit to campus from The National Museum of Nuclear Science and History to campus. Entitled "Art of the Reactor," this exhibit brings together art and science to explore these engineered monuments to human ingenuity and human energy needs. We will augment this exhibit with photos and patents from our own archives at Illinois Tech to tell our story within this important history.
--Host the Art of Illinois Tech. As we all know, Illinois Tech lies in the heart of Bronzeville, Chicago--the location of the renaissance of American jazz and culture. And that culture is alive and well in the community. Lewis will invite artists from the Bronzeville community and the greater Illinois Tech community (because let's face it, STEM students are creative) and host an art exhibit that explores the intersection of our campus, our location, our fields of study, and our artistic expression.
Over the last year, our faculty have been crushing it.
We have a new games and interactive media program for those who want to design immersive environments for both leisure but also serious business, such as mental health or engineering training
We have a new masters degree in Sensor Science and Technology, which brings together Chemistry, Electrical Computer Engineering, Business, and Design to respond to the data collection needs of the future through the sensor development that we need to engage in now.
We have a world class rehabilitation psychology program, top two in the nation, for which the major goal is to assist a person with a disability or chronic illness to move to psychological and economic independence.
