This Giving Tuesday, the Mid-Continent Public Library Foundation is raising funds for the Forever Book Fund which allows MCPL staff to purchase forever books to distribute to children who don't have regular access to the Library.

Our partners Children's Plus, Inc and North American Savings Bank are matching ALL donations to the Forever Book Fund dollar for dollar. Your gift is DOUBLED, helping MCPL deliver twice as many books to children in our community.

Studies show that one of the biggest impacts on literacy rates is access to books in the home. Adding just one more book to a child's home library can make a major difference in their literacy skills and academic performance. In a perfect world, all 217,000 children in our District would regularly visit the Library. The reality is that thousands of those children may never visit a library or have a book to call their own.

That's why Mid-Continent Public Library brings books to them through visits to classrooms, daycare centers, and apartment complexes. MCPL staff give away over 15,000 books annually to help children build their home libraries. Through a matched donation of just $100 to the Forever Book Fund, you can provide books for 50 children and make a lasting difference in their lives.
