Montessori School of Louisville will be celebrating the 150th birthday of Dr. Maria Montessori on Friday, September 4, 2020 by hosting our Annual Fund Day of Giving in her honor and in celebration of MSLs 15th Year.

Our mission at MSL is to "empower each individual to make knowledgeable, responsible, and peaceful contributions to the global community." This year our Annual Fund drive will be dedicated to supporting those contributions within our own MSL community. 100% of funds raised on this day will go to our tuition assistance program. Over one-third of our students applied for tuition assistance this year. If you are able, during this unprecedented and unpredictable moment in our lifetime, we ask you to be generous for those who cannot.

Not only is 2020 a year to commemorate Dr. Montessoris amazing legacy of education, as well as her commitment to advocating for the childs ability to transform the world, this school year also marks 15 years of educating children for Montessori School of Louisville. We will kick off the celebration with a birthday party for Dr. Montessori on Monday, August 31st with an online Annual Fund Campaign. Global participation amongst Montessori communities includes planting specially commissioned tulip bulbs, sharing an empowering song, My Hand in Your Hand by Kate Oliver , and supporting our own schools in ways we can. At MSL, we would love for your family to listen to and learn this song. Some teachers will introduce 150 counting activities, read about the life of Maria Montessori, and perhaps older students will be guided to engage in meaningful discussion of what it means to make knowledgeable, responsible and peaceful contributions. Later in September, children will plant 150 tulips that we can see bloom in the spring to continue our schools 15 year legacy. You too can plant tulips in Dr. Montessoris and MSLs honor with a donation of $150 or more on September 4th.
