The SAC Proud fund is awarded to students who have emergency-based need. Gregg Torres struggled with homeless his first semester at SAC. He ended up on academic probation and was unable to pay tuition. He went to the Presidents Office and asked for help. I asked the Presidents Office to invest in me, and they took a chance, Torres said. Motivated to not let the people down who helped him Torres passed all his classes and that was the last semester he was on academic probation. Graduating in the spring of 2022 Torres said Every time life told me to give up SAC provided me with an opportunity to keep going.
