Story
If a student can't make it to school, they are unlikely to make it through school. With this in mind, the NSCC Foundation launched the Transportation Assistance Program in 2018 through a partnership with WeGo Transit. Students participating in the program receive semester-long WeGo bus passes while they are enrolled at the College, ensuring that they have transportation to and from school.
However, the program is not a fit for all students in its current form. Many students do not live on or near a bus line, work early or late hours that extend beyond those of the bus system, or have to consider their children when making transportation plans. And students living outside Davidson County (where WeGo operates) receive no transportation support. We need your help to create more equitable transportation solutions for NSCC students through an additional partnership with Lyft. Will you help us make sure that students can make it to class when the bus is not a viable option?
