Story
TLC has followed CDC guidelines and closed our buildings as of March 16th. We are hopeful, however, because we are starting to develop new service models to meet the needs of our community and provide revenue to support our expenses. But these new programs and services are costly!
TLC is excited to report it has transitioned to telehealth and is delivering virtual therapy, counseling and tutoring sessions. Our outpatient clinicians and tutors have worked diligently to support families by developing appropriate materials and new offerings via virtual platforms.
The Katherine Thomas School was a leader in the initiation of virtual platforms for distance learning. We purchased the platform immediately, implemented training and supported students in moving toward a regular teaching schedule in the weeks following. Engaging our students in online learning has not been without its challenges, but the KTS faculty and staff have worked very hard to minimize any disruption to our students' education.
The following video shows some of our students thanking their teachers for keeping that "school bus rolling" during the pandemic!
These delivery models come with enormous expenses, placing a strain on our budget. That's why we need your help during this pandemic. Take the challenge and help TLC get through these difficult times!
