We are excited to host our sixth annual Trunk Party for our youth heading to college or a trade school this August. For many participants, acquiring school supplies has always been challenging. They are leaving home and heading out alone for the first time. Our goal is to create trunks of supplies for our youth to take to school so they can arrive prepared and ready to learn.
Trunks will include items such as Backpacks, notebooks, twin-size sheet Sets (extra-long), pillows, laundry detergent, shower caddy, shower shoes, bath towels, first aid kits, AND MORE!
Purchase items from our Walmart wish list. All items will be shipped directly to UCAN. You can also donate by clicking the purple "Give Now" button at the top of this page.
For questions about donating, please email Gwendalyn Carver at Gwendalyn.Carver@ucanchicago.org.
Founded over 153 years ago, UCAN has grown into a multifaceted social service organization serving over 22,000 youth and families. UCANs vision - youth who have suffered trauma can become our future leaders - is realized through a focus on compassionate healing, education, and empowerment, which offers youth a sense of opportunity and hope for the future. We believe that inspiring young people will help break cycles of violence, abuse, and neglect and will help youth become advocates for change in their communities.
