Visit the charity's profileThe ABA Legal Opportunity Scholarship Fund (LOSF) helps the American legal profession more closely resemble the public that it serves by empowering students of color as they embark on their rigorous academic journey to becoming an attorney. A more diverse pipeline to the legal profession will result if we financially support law students from historically marginalized communities, so they can focus on their studies while still making ends meet.
Each year, the ABA Legal Opportunity Scholarship Fund awards up to 20 diverse students with a $15,000 commitment, payable over the three years of law school, to offset the rising costs of obtaining a law degree. These exceptionally talented and deeply committed recipients share a passion for public or pro bono service and continue to champion justice long after law school. A bold investment of charitable dollars means that these students graduate with less financial burden and are positioned to pursue careers in public service or private practice that benefit their communities.
Through acquiring a Juris Doctor, I hope to gain a network of individuals who are as passionate for social change as I am.
