My name is Alan Remes, and I am twenty-one years old. I was born on September 9th, 2000, in Gainesville, Georgia. I lived all my life in Gainesville until I attended college. My parents came from Mexico in 1995 when they had my older brother. My parents came to the United States seeking a better life for their children and better opportunities, The American Dream. I attend Gainesville City Schools, elementary through high school. I graduated from Gainesville High School in 2019. My parents have been my biggest supporters as they always motivate me to do my best at all times. They are why I am proud to be a first-generation student at the University of West Georgia. I am majoring in early childhood education and plan to build my way into Student Affairs. This summer, I got to be an orientation leader for West Georgia. While working as an orientation leader, I fell in love with student affairs. I plan to apply to the CSA program here at The University of West Georgia and obtain my master's degree. Some of my most significant achievements while attending the University of West Georgia are being on the deans and presidents lists for multiple semesters. I have also been awarded The Carole Zuker Carreker Early Childhood Education Scholarship and the Hugh L. Brock Jr. and Doris Hollingsworth Brock Scholarship for the 2022-2023 academic year.
