Grace College & Seminary has a storied history that is founded upon relationships with others. From casual conversations with friends about the upcoming weekend to study groups meeting and preparing for classes, these connections last a lifetime.

Many friendships that began at Grace were probably sparked during time spent at Alpha Dining Commons. For decades, Alpha has provided a comfortable third space for students, staff, faculty, and community members alike to connect with one another and grow together.

Alpha Dining was dedicated in 1964 as a dorm and dining commons. For the last 55 years, Alpha has served our campus well as the main dining facility for campus. However, as our campus community continues to grow, the needs are also changing. Providing the best quality food and dining experience is important for our current students as well as students coming to Grace in the coming years. Our current space lacks aesthetic appeal and enough space for all of our students to dine together. The kitchen equipment and ventilation need updated as well. Food allergies and sensitivities have increased as we become more knowledgeable about the food we eat. Thus, a need arises for a better designed and equipped facility for our campus community. This renovated facility will include various food stations and a designated allergy friendly prep space.

Like the kitchen and dining room in our own homes, the campus dining facility is where community happens between students and between students and faculty.
