Since 2014, Annette Nicholson has contributed to WaterAid Canada's mission by excelling in her roles as Board Member, Vice Chair, and most recently, Chair of the Board. As she prepares to step down from her current role as Chair, we want to take the time to reflect on her many years of dedication and unwavering support in helping us work towards our vision of a world where people facing poverty and marginalization have access to sustainable and safe water, sanitation, and hygiene.
WaterAid Canada's work initially sparked Annette's interest because of the power that access to WASH services has in unlocking potential for women and girls. As Annette's dedication to the WaterAid mission deepened, women's empowerment has remained a consistent focal point for her.
As we celebrate the passion and commitment that Annette has continuously brought to her roles, we also want to recognize her role in the organization's major successes during her tenure. Annette's sage leadership steered the organization through many challenging times and helped transition us from WaterCan to a Member of the WaterAid Federation. With a strong interest in connecting with donors, Annette brought Canadians from coast to coast closer to the cause.
We invite you to celebrate Annette as she leaves the Board of Directors by making a special donation. WaterAid Canada has launched a match campaign, with funds raised directed to areas of highest priority. To kick off the campaign, Annette has made a generous donation of $10,000. As a WaterAid colleague past or present, we invite you to consider making a gift to celebrate Annette's legacy. She is thrilled to close out her tenure with a campaign to advance our mission.
