Story
In 1987, our founders heard a call to pursue God’s justice, build partnerships for ministry, and provide a theological home for those cast out of their congregations, associations, and institutions that has distinguished us from many other Christian organizations.
Here, at end of 2024, our resolve to continue following that call is being tested. It’s being tested by the results of an election that left no doubt about what kind of future many of our neighbors want, the persistence and pervasiveness of Christian nationalism and white supremacy, and by our own fear that we might not be able to get where God is leading us in the face of it all.
We know, however, that in spite of all that stands in our way and thanks to your presence and consistent support over the years: we are positioned to speak with clarity about the consequences of white supremacy and Christian nationalism; we are primed to assist pastors and people in the pews to meet this moment with confidence, curiosity, and courage; and we are preparing to expand our network of communities committed to racial justice and the support we are able to provide for this work.
But we can’t do it alone. We need your help.
