Story

Cultivating creativity is central to the programs and exhibitions at the Denver Art Museum. There is something unique about finding inspiration by looking at an original work of art or having an exhibition spark a new idea. Whether you're getting hands-on with a project in the Studio, participating in Drop-in Drawing, or listening to an artist describe their process, we aim to inspire the creativity and artist within you.

Today, we invite you to join us in celebrating your own creativity by supporting the "Art in You" campaign.

With the grand reopening of the Lanny and Sharon Martin Building, you have new creative opportunities to discover that we are all creatives.

The Morgridge Creative Hub is a place for gathering and connection, a platform for diverse and evolving community-driven programming, and a celebration of local creativity. You can explore your inner creativity through interactions and activities designed by local creatives Frankie Toan and Moe Gram. Additional programs will be phased in throughout the year.

The Community Spotlight is another opportunity to connect with creative expressions in the Denver community. The museum is partnering with organizations to spotlight the voices and artwork of local community members through rotating showcases. For the inaugural exhibition featured in the Morgridge Creative Hub, we are thrilled to be partnering with the University of Denver and Denver Public Libraries on a photography project connecting older adults and college-age students around memory.

In the Sie Welcome Center, you are greeted by a new mural by Denver-based artists Emily Hope Dobkin and Olive Moya entitled "I Invent It. My Hands Draw a Cloud" that has incorporated images submitted by the community. The new piece serves as a beacon of welcoming to students, families, and visitors of all ages.

Reopening the Martin Building has expanded the museum's ability to serve the community, welcome guests to our city, and preserve and present priceless works of art from cultures around the world and throughout history for generations to come. And with that, we hope to inspire creativity in all of us.

Make a 100% tax-deductible donation of any size today to the "Art in You" campaign to support the exhibitions and programs at the Denver Art Museum.
